HabitQuest vs Habitify

Habitify is what a habit tracker looks like when it is built like a productivity tool: clean dashboard, precise stats, calendar and health integrations, even an API. It syncs across basically everything and takes itself seriously in the best way.

HabitQuest takes the same job (do not let your habits die) and answers it with a completely different tool: a game. This one comes down to what your brain needs on the days motivation is missing.

Pick Habitify if…

Pick Habitify if you want a serious, data-driven tracker with native apps on every platform, deep integrations, and a dashboard that would not look out of place at work.

Pick HabitQuest if…

Pick HabitQuest if dashboards do not make you feel anything. When the numbers stop pulling you back, a quest line with stakes and loot is a very different kind of gravity.

Where Habitify honestly beats HabitQuest

  • Integrations and automation. Apple Health auto-tracking, calendar sync, a public API, and Zapier support. HabitQuest has none of that today.
  • Native apps everywhere. Habitify ships real apps for iOS, Android, and Mac with cross-platform sync. HabitQuest is a web-first PWA.
  • Data depth. If you love trends, completion rates, and time-of-day analysis, Habitify’s stats go deeper than anything on my roadmap.

Where HabitQuest wins

  • Emotional pull. Habitify informs you; HabitQuest recruits you. A quest chain in progress is stickier than a consistency percentage for brains that run on story and novelty.
  • No streak anxiety. Habitify still centers streaks and records your gaps. HabitQuest deliberately shows no wall of misses, because staring at your failures helps nobody restart.
  • AI quests. "Answer three emails" becomes a quest with stakes. Habitify keeps tasks as list items.

The miss-a-day test

Habitify handles a miss like an analyst: the streak breaks, the gap is logged, and your completion rate absorbs the hit. Fair, accurate, and for some people quietly demoralizing. HabitQuest handles a miss like a game master: nothing on screen accuses you, and the next quest is simply waiting. Honest data versus honest kindness; pick the one your brain responds to.

Frequently asked questions

Is Habitify or HabitQuest better value?

They cost about the same per year (Habitify premium is roughly $30/yr or $60 lifetime; HabitQuest Pro is $29/yr Early Bird or $5/mo), and both free plans include 3 habits. The value question is really which one you will still open in March: dashboards and integrations, or quests and momentum.

Does Habitify punish missed days?

It does not punish, but it does display: broken streaks and gaps appear in your stats and completion rates. If seeing that record motivates you, Habitify is a fine choice. If it reads like a report card of failure, HabitQuest was built to remove exactly that.

Can HabitQuest replace Habitify’s integrations?

Not today. If auto-tracking from Apple Health or calendar-based habits are core to your system, Habitify wins on integrations. HabitQuest’s bet is different: most habit apps are not abandoned for lack of integrations, they are abandoned for lack of motivation.
